Mexican Food Makes Every Football Party Better

Football season is finally here! For many, this means Sunday gatherings with friends and family in front of the TV watching the big game.  However, watching the game with your loved ones also comes with requirements.  One of these requirements is food, and a lot of it.  From appetizers to meals, Mexican food provides the best selection of options that your guests are sure to love.

Here, our team from California Burritos provides a few ideas to make hosting game day a success.

Nacho Bar

Although we love nacho bars any day of the week, they’re perfect for gatherings.  By providing your guests with an array of choices, you can be sure there’s a little something for everyone.  Start with your favorite shredded meat and choice of a bean.  Next, you’ll want to provide an array of sides like shredded cheese, jalapeños, olives, pico de gallo, salsa, guacamole, sour cream, and whatever else you desire! Lastly, a big bowl of tortilla chips and voila, you have a nacho bar.  The perfect appetizer made just the way your guests like it!

Taco Bar

Similar to the nacho bar, taco bars are a quick and easy meal when hosting a crowd.  Be sure to provide a selection of protiens for the main ingredient; seasoned chicken, beef, and seafood fillings will typically satisfy every dietary need.  Again, you’ll want to have a variety of sides for people to choose their toppings. Not only is this a sure way to satisfy, but it also makes creating your taco a fun experience.  Finish the taco bar with both soft and hard tacos to ensure everyone is happy!

Dos Equis Fish Tacos

If you feel like getting a bit more creative and preparing a meal for your guests, we love Dos Equis fish tacos.  Inspired by one of the top Mexican beers, Dos Equis provides a unique flavor to white fish that will have your guests coming back for seconds.  Pair your infused fish with pico de gallo and chipotle ranch sauce, and you have yourself the perfect taco.

Here’s an easy at-home recipe for the sauce, perfect for both tacos and nachos!

CHIPOTLE RANCH SAUCE:

  • 1 ½ cups of ranch dressing
  • 2 cups of chipotle chiles in adobo sauce

Blend together in a blender and refrigerate for up to a week. Yes, it’s that easy.  However, feel free to add spices to taste.  With the addition of paprika, hot sauce, jalapeño peppers, or lime, you can create your own unique twist on this classic.

No matter if it is game day or a workday, here at California Burritos we know Mexican food.  Stop by any of our locations today and experience the authentic taste everyone is talking about for yourself!
