Pupusa
“Pupusa” is a traditional Salvadoran dish made of a thick, handmade corn tortilla with a side of fresh salsa. Served with “Curtido,” pupusa is a mix of cabbage, carrots, and jalapenos. Further, this traditional dish is generally filled with one or all of the following: cheese, cooked ground pork made into a paste known as “Chicharron,” and refried beans. Not only is this dish a great appetizer to pair with your favorite beverage, it’s also perfect on its own!
